Emil Banga, senior director of product management for Dealertrack, has been named to Auto Remarketing’s 40 Under 40 Class of 2018. This distinction honors young professionals taking leadership roles in the auto industry and impacting the remarketing and used car business.
Since joining Dealertrack in 2007, Emil has played a key role in the growth of several Dealertrack business units by providing innovative product development leadership.
Under Emil’s guidance, the Dealertrack Aftermarket Network has grown from a network of 20 providers to 120 providers, and now processes more than one million transactions per year. Emil led the new product development from ideation through market launch for Dealertrack eMenu and eMenu for iPad®, which currently has more than 3,700 dealer subscribers. Emil also created the first in-market compliance solution for dealerships, Dealertrack Compliance Solutions, which now has more than 8,000 dealer subscribers.
Prior to becoming senior director of product in 2017, Emil held a number of roles across Cox Automotive and Dealertrack. As director of product from 2015 to 2017, Emil was responsible for payment and deal tools across Cox Automotive and Dealertrack. Before that, Emil led the Dealertrack Menu launch as a product manager and grew the Aftermarket Network as a business analyst.
Emil says he is inspired by the shifts taking place in the automotive retail industry.
“Consumers are changing, and the industry is evolving to better meet consumer demands,” Emil said. “Dealerships are looking at things in a smarter and more efficient way than ever before. With that, I have had the privilege to be part of leading this industry into a world of change. That change drives me to build solutions that makes the experience of purchasing a car better for dealers and customers. Someday my children will buy their own cars using technology that I helped create, and that in itself is a profound personal accomplishment.”
Emil and the rest of this year’s 40 Under 40 class will be honored at Used Car Week, Nov. 12-16, 2018 in Scottsdale, Arizona.
