Brand promotes from within, strengthens commitment to providing open, flexible, easy-to-use solutions that simplify processes for dealers.

Salt Lake City, UT – March 13, 2019 – Dealertrack today announced the appointment of Cox Automotive and industry veteran Mandi Fang to vice president and general manager of Dealertrack DMS.

Fang brings more than 15 years of executive leadership experience in the automotive retail industry to her new role, spanning across product management, innovation, sales and management of strategic accounts. She will be responsible for overseeing Dealertrack’s growing DMS business as the brand continues to develop open, flexible, easy-to-use solutions critical to helping dealerships adapt to a changing industry and shifting consumer expectations.

Most recently, Fang spent five years in product management, leading the ongoing development, growth and innovation of Cox Automotive’s new and used vehicle inventory management, merchandising, and DMS solutions for dealers and OEMs.

“At both Dealertrack DMS and Cox Automotive at large, our commitment to putting the dealer front and center drives every decision we make — starting with our leadership,” said Randy Kobat, senior vice president of Dealertrack DMS, vAuto, HomeNet Automotive and Cox Automotive Rebates & Incentives. “I am confident Mandi’s substantial breadth of experience and skills will position her to take our DMS business to the next level with the dealership always in mind. With deep industry expertise and close dealer relations, she will continue to be an instrumental force in our ongoing push to develop industry-leading solutions that address the challenges facing dealers today and prepare them for what’s to come in the future.”

Fang has proven herself to be an influential leader in the automotive industry as a member of both the Women in Tech Council as well as Women in Automotive. In 2016, she was recognized as one of Auto Remarketing’s Women in Remarketing and received the Spirit of Leadership Award from Women’s Automotive Association International. Outside of work, Fang spends her time volunteering at INN Between, Hospice for the Homeless and Best Friends Animal Society.

“Knowledgeable, strategic and detailed, Mandi has the characteristics and keen insight necessary to help lead teams and streamline technology solutions for dealers,” said Terri Mulcahey, executive vice president of marketing & business development at Penske Automotive, who has worked closely with Fang for nearly 12 years.

“It’s an honor to take on this new leadership role at Dealertack DMS, where we don’t just talk about being dealer-centric, we deliver,” said Fang. “Working closely with Randy and the rest of the leadership team, we will continue to partner with dealers to provide the open and transparent solutions they need to drive business and protect their bottom line.”

Fang’s appointment is indicative of a culture deeply committed to diversity and inclusion, which has propelled the company’s success. Dealertrack DMS has been named for the second consecutive year to the Women Tech Council’s 2019 Shatter List. This distinction is based on analyzing hundreds of data points on companies throughout the tech industry, and places your company among the top of those making real impact towards more gender inclusive cultures that help advance women in tech.

The Shatter List is compiled by scoring companies on four factors critical to building inclusive cultures with meaningful measures that help women break and surpass the glass ceiling in technology. Each factor relates to demonstrable and visible activities, programming and commitment to women working in technology at all levels of the company from executive to entry level. Data was gathered and evaluated from across 10 different secondary data sets and mapped to the following four evaluation factors:

  • Executive engagement (active support from the CEO, executive team and all leadership)
  • Company programming (currently has women in leadership executive positions and proactively implements programs to support women in technology)
  • Community investment (active participation with the broader community to learn from and share best practices regarding culture and inclusion)
  • Women’s or D&I group (formal programs to support women internally)

Fang received her Bachelor of Arts in communications from Morehead State University.
